Surgical Experience

Laparoscopic Surgery & Endoscopy

I perform a very wide range of laparoscopic procedures including anti-reflux procedures and repair of giant hiatal hernias, cholecystectomies, bile duct duct explorations, laparoscopic liver cyst fenestration. I have undertaken training in Belgium, France and the States. I perform upper and lower Gi endoscopy on regular lists (OGD & colonoscopy) for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Upper GI & HPB Surgery

I have a specialist understanding of the relevant physiology and radiology. I perform laparoscopic fundoplication and myotomy for achalasia.

I perform complex open and laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia repair, much of this surgery as day case or short stay. procedures. I am an experienced upper and lower GI endoscopist and am able to perform therapeutic procedures.

I continue to perform benign and palliative cancer open and laparoscopic hepatobiliary surgery

General / Emergency Surgery

I have gained a wide breadth of experience in the management and treatment of general surgical emergency work. I am comfortable operating in the neck, chest and abdomen/pelvis. Experience gained on the renal transplantation has improved my vascular technical skills to the point where, if necessary, I enjoy the critical care aspects of managing seriously ill patients. I have attended the Definitive Trauma skills course at the RCS.
